SNOW THA PRODUCT – THE MUST-SEE EMERGING FEMALE ARTIST SET TO GRACE THE STAGE AT THE DINAH 2018

PALM SPRINGS, CA – For nearly three decades the world’s largest girl party/music festival, also known as The Dinah, has been turning the city of Palm Springs into the ultimate entertainment hub, offering an epic slate of Top Ten Billboard headliners and  A-list celebrities.

But what makes The Dinah one of the most celebrated and anticipated festivals of the Palm Springs and the Coachella valley region is its remarkable ability to identify and book the best emerging female artists in the world. They are truly the next big-thing, and they go on to become future headliners.

As a MUST DO venue that has proven to be the catalyst propelling new young talent to superstar status, The Dinah was a logical choice for music’s new “IT” girl Snow Tha Product.

Snow Tha Product, an MTV VMA award winning Latina lyricist and emcee with Hip-Hop, Pop and R&B sensibilities, is exactly the rapper we need right now.

The SoCal native, who records in both English and Spanish, has been involved in some pretty high-profile music collaborations working with the likes of Ty Dolla $ign.

Born Claudia Alexandra Madriz Meza, the outspoken daughter of undocumented immigrants, was also featured on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Immigrants (We Get the Job Done)” from the Hamilton Mixtape.

A well known artist and influencer in the social media world with over 109 million views on YouTube, 2.4 million fans on Facebook, 586k fans on Instagram, the Atlantic Records artist has a legion of loyal fans awaiting her new releases. When not working on music, she’s building up her acting credits, which includes a recurring role on USA Network’s Queen of the South as gang leader Lil’ Traviesa.

She has been recognized and respected throughout the hip-hop industry for carving her own lane. Her reputation as a spitfire performer has her nonstop energy shows selling out from the West to East Coast.

Snow Tha Product hopes to one day become a role model for future generations and a voice for all Latinos.

“I’m so excited to feature Snow Tha Product on our 2018 Dinah Line up.  I believe this is the last time people will see this artist in a more intimate venue as she is going to blow up in 2018.  She also brings such a feel-good vibe to the event, singing about living life on our own terms.  I applaud female artists who are making it happen for themselves especially in a male-dominated industry,“ says Mariah Hanson, founder and producer of Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend.

Making a whole lot of noise, Snow Tha Product is commanding the spotlight, and has everyone eagerly waiting to see what’s next at The Dinah.

‘I Wrote That One, Too’ Book by Steve Dorff

Steve Dorff wrote for a diverse gamut of singers including Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Blake Shelton, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Rogers, Ray Charles, Anne Murray, Whitney Houston, George Strait, Dolly Parton, Judy Collins, Cher, Dusty Springfield, Ringo Starr, and Garth Brooks.

I Wrote That One, Too…

A Life in Songwriting from Willie to Whitney

by Steve Dorff with Colette Freedman

Montclair, NJ  (November 2, 2017)  – One of the most successful songwriters and composers of the last 25 years, Steve Dorff has penned over 20 Top 10 hits for pop and country artists around the world, including Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Blake Shelton, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Rogers, Ray Charles, Anne Murray, Whitney Houston, George Strait, Dolly Parton, Judy Collins, Cher, Dusty Springfield, Ringo Starr, and Garth Brooks. He has scored for television shows, including Growing Pains, Murphy Brown, Murder She Wrote, and Reba, and several films, such as Any Which Way but Loose, for which he penned the titular song.

Steve has now written his next hit, I Wrote That One, Too… A Life in Songwriting from Willie to Whitney (Backbeat Books Hardcover; November 1, 2017; $29.99), a memoir recounting his remarkable journey filled with amazing successes, happy accidents in the studio, incredible friendships, tremendous creative satisfaction, and sometimes just plain being at the right place at the right time with the right song in hand. He writes:

“I truly have loved being that ‘behind-the-scenes’ guy, maintaining my anonymity, and being able to walk past the obnoxious Paparazzi at great restaurants without them giving me a second glance. In my opinion, being a songwriter who has had a successful career and doing what he is passionate about, is an award in itself.”

The book follows Steve from his childhood in Queens to Manhattan to Nashville to his eventual arrival in Los Angeles. Steve shares anecdotes, advice, and insights into his phenomenal career and recounts his experiences and sometimes-hilarious behind-the-scenes stories with the many famous singers, musicians, producers, and lyric writers with whom he has collaborated. He also gets personal and shares what he has learned about strength, courage, perseverance, and unconditional love from three important women in his life: his first wife and his mother-who passed away within a few months of each other-and his big sister, who died in May 2016.

Full of heartfelt stories, hard-earned wisdom, and delightful wit, I Wrote That One, Too… is a great read for musicians, music fans, and whoever has chased a dream and survived the surprising but often serendipitous turns in the road.

About the Authors:

Steve Dorff is a Grammy-nominee songwriter with a long line of hits to his credit, including Kenny Rogers’ “Through the Years” and most recently Garth Brooks’ “Baby, Let’s Lay Down and Dance.” An industry stalwart with a career spanning four decades, Dorff is the recipient of the NSAI Songwriter of the Year award and has been honored with more than 40 BMI awards, 14 Billboard No. 1s, and 15 Top 10 Hits. More recently, he has returned to his first love, musical theater, with his forthcoming musical “Josephine. His songs reflect all musical genres, from contemporary sounds to haunting orchestral melodies, and he continues to be an integral part of today’s music scene.

Colette Freedman is an internationally produced playwright with over 25 produced plays. She was voted “One of 50 to Watch” by the Dramatist’s Guild. Her play Sister Cities was the hit of the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe, earned five-star reviews, and has been produced internationally. She has co-written a number of books with such best-selling writers as Jackie Collins and Michael Scott, and has written two novels, The Affair and The Consequences.

NAMM 2018 Show Expansion news

The 2018 NAMM Show, the global crossroads of the music products, pro audio and sound, and event technology industries, will offer exhibitors and attendees the largest expanded campus in the show’s history when the doors open January 25-28, 2018 in Anaheim, California.

The Show, which annually gathers over 100,000 attendees from 139 countries and regions, will take on a new look in the form of communities across the show floor, including expanded event technology and pro audio areas; the addition of a new building, Anaheim Convention Center North (ACC North); as well as a new education and professional development campus, curated by a variety of industry leading experts in their respective fields.

Just released, The 2018 NAMM Show map represents the diverse crossroads of industry in both buildings of the convention center, and offers a platform for the product communities of stringed instruments, school band and orchestra, fretted instruments (acoustic and electric), percussion, keys (pianos, keyboards and synthesizers), pro audio and sound, stage and lighting, as well as distributors, publishers, retail services and more.

Access the map here: https://www.namm.org/thenammshow/2018/map

Highlights of The 2018 NAMM Show communities include:
Event Technology: A new area of the show will be transformed into an environment ideal for showcasing lighting, rigging, DJ, sound, special effects and staging products and services in a completely controlled atmosphere. Professionals in this space will be able to test-drive new products on the spot and engage in one-on-one conversations with leading experts and buyers.

Pro Audio and Sound: Visitors across the show floor will find products in both pro audio and live sound format.

Innovations and new product launches in recording, live sound, installation, A/V, broadcast, and post-production, along with consumer electronics, software, DJ, and technology will round out the experience, all set in a business-focused environment.

Fretted Instruments: Fretted instruments, from ukuleles, mandolins to handcrafted boutique guitars and electric guitars, basses, and more, will be found on all levels of the convention center. Attendees and buyers alike will have the opportunity to directly connect with exhibitors throughout these dedicated communities.

Percussion: Cymbals, kits and all kinds of percussion accessories will be located and placed near demo areas so attendees can experience the true sound of the instruments in a quieter area away from the show floor.

Pianos: Piano brands from around-the-world will have their own dedicated showcase – a gallery conducive to playing and delving into the artistry and nuances of each instrument.

School Band and Orchestra/Stringed Instruments: Horns, brass, woodwinds as well as stringed instruments and bow exhibitors will appreciate the spacious area that houses SBO, as well as its proximity to all areas in the convention center.

MI/Pro Audio Distributors & Publishers: An intersection of MI and pro audio distributors, brands, and publishers servicing multiple product types across retail and professional channels will create a hub of activity for those seeking their services.

The growth of the official NAMM campus includes an expansion of NAMM’s education programs, which will be relocated to the Hilton Anaheim. Covering four floors, the new Hilton Anaheim education campus will offer attendees the chance to mix and mingle between professional development disciplines and opportunities to enhance careers and grow their businesses and knowledge.

Announced earlier this year, pro audio and sound professionals can take advantage of education from the Audio Engineering Society’s new format: AES@NAMM Prosound Symposium: Live and Studio. Event tech education, in the areas of lighting, stage and production will be among the themes in a robust schedule curated by Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) and experts from Lighting and Sound America, Stage Directions, Front of House, Projection Lighting and Staging News magazines. TEC Tracks, which offers free education for emerging pro audio professionals, will also be found in the Hilton.

The NAMM Idea Center will remain in the lobby of the Anaheim Convention Center. Badge registration for non-NAMM members opened on August 30.

Schedules for all educational sessions will be announced in the coming months.

In the evening, The NAMM Show will offer plenty of networking opportunities, including the new-to-NAMM Parnelli Awards (Friday, January 26), honoring pioneering, influential professionals and companies and their contributions to the live production industry.

This year’s event will recognize Billy Joel’s long-time Production Manager, Bobby “Boomer” Thrasher, as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Lighting designer and innovator, Jonathan Smeeton (The Rolling Stones, Marilyn Manson, Jane’s Addiction, Taylor Swift), will receive the Parnelli Visionary Award; and DiGiCo technical director John Stadius will be honored with the Audio Innovator Award.

Other events to be held over the course of the show include the pro audio and sound recording favorite NAMM TEC Awards (Saturday, January 27), concerts on The Grand Plaza Stage, and a myriad of other interactive events and opportunities.

Ditch the car for these Five Great Music Festivals

UK car experts list five music festivals you definitely don’t want to drive to, based on eco-friendliness, consequences for impaired driving and public transit options

UK car experts list five music festivals you definitely don’t want to drive to, based on eco-friendliness, consequences for impaired driving and public transit options

London, United Kingdom, 22/05/2017 – Planning your next festival trip? The online used car dealership Carspring might be car fanatics, but they’ve got sense when it comes to having fun responsibly with this list of five festivals perfect for leaving the car at home. Logistics experts took into account alternate public transportation options, waiting times for drivers, eco-friendliness of the festival, and fines for driving under the influence.

The results offer a down to earth take on some of the world’s most celebrated festivals:

1. Burning Man, Idaho, USA

A festival in the middle of the desert will never be the easiest place to get to. Especially when 60,000+ people are trying to get there at the same time. As blogger Kiersten Rich suggests, “Wherever you come in from, be prepared for traffic. Getting in and out of Black Rock City can take anywhere up to 12 hours (or longer).” In other words, get the Burner Express Bus from San Francisco or Reno instead.

Burning Man is one of the craziest, unique festivals on the planet. Forget bringing money, as the only way to get stuff at Burning Man are through playa gifts. You might think you’d need the space of a car to bring enough gifts to go around, but there are other ways to share the love. One person came up with the amazing idea of bringing bicycle repair tools. Not only do they take up next-to-no space, it helped out loads of people over the course of the festival, repairing many of Burning Man’s bikes.

Yet another reason to leave the car at home is the fact that fatalities have only occurred at Burning Man when a car has been involved. Amazing when you consider the heat and drugs consumed. Leave the car at home, chill with beers on the way there, and post-festival hippy potions on the way back. Take the bus, or hitch a ride, bring smaller things to trade, save some money, and get down and dirty in the desert.

Best way to get to Burning Man: Take the Burner Express Bus from San Francisco or Reno

Number of people: 60,000

Waiting time for drivers: 12 hours+

Cost for driving under the influence: 10 day mandatory jail sentence, up to 1 year

2. Boom Festival, Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal

Rocking up in a gas guzzler is no way to arrive at an eco-friendly festival. It might be in the middle of nowhere, but taking a Boom Bus from Switzerland, Belgium, Madrid, or Portugal is a much better way to get to Boom. As festival-goer Matthew Wise says, “the bus is certainly the simplest and most hassle-free means of getting there.” Boom puts them on for good reason too. In 2016, 800 tonnes of CO2 were saved from people not using their cars. Alternatively, you could even cycle. In the past Boom Festival has allowed cyclists in for free. Plus, it’s well in-keeping with the festival’s eco-conscious mantra.

Even if you rocked up in a car, you’d end up spending a whole day waiting, melting inside a hot metal box. With an 8-hour drive, and as Reddit user alechko says, a “6-8 hour wait” at the gates, it’s definitely not the way to start the party vibes for the weekend. After the festival, you will have major issues finding your car too. With Boom being so dusty and hot, you can’t even see the colour of each car at the end of the festival, never mind the license plate. Plus, with the bus taking party-goers directly into the festival, you won’t have to queue up for ages to pitch your tent. And, you’re more likely to meet some cool new people if you travel by bus!

Best way to get to Boom: Take the Boom Bus from Switzerland, Belgium, Madrid, or Portugal

Number of people: 30,000

Waiting time for drivers: 6-8 hours

Cost for driving under the influence: Severe fine, licence withdrawal, or imprisonment

Heading into summer sizzle
With their stimulating single, “Cinderella” still buzzing the airwaves, Blush – rappers Sunni, Bunni Ray, and vocalist Tali – the hot all-female trio off Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment’s label, is taking their show to center stage this summer.

Kicking off their itinerary they will join the popular GayDays® Annual LGBTQ 2 Vacation Event in Orlando, May 30- June 3 2017.

The event’s press release has just officially announced the details of days of exciting activities and performances, including Blush:

“The premiere vacation destination experience celebrates the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community by hosting a week of events and parties through the first week of June. Based in an inclusive philosophy, GayDays® welcomes people of all races, ages, beliefs, straight allies and members of the media. The GayDays® site bills the vacation experience as “an all-over town, something for everyone extravaganza.” This year’s GayDays® features theme park visits to Walt Disney World™, Universal Studios™ and SeaWorld Orlando™, along with a host of other events including the 19 Annual GayDays® Expo, cocktail soirees, pool parties and shows. GayDays® estimates that 180,000+ people will attend this year. Partnership of the official Kick-Off Party on Tuesday, May 30 and LOVE! onePULSE Cabaret Show on Saturday, June 3, have 100% of all ticket sales benefitting onePULSE Foundation. The event has grown over 27 years to have an estimated 50,000 red-shirted attendees filling Disney’s Magic Kingdom™. The red shirts represent the spirit of the GayDayS event and and are trending on social media attention under the hashtag #RedShirtDays.

For those interested in attending the GayDays® official host hotel is the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld. There will be transportation to theme park events from the hotel. Major sponsors include Bud Light and Ketel and a variety of musical acts will perform throughout the event.”
This is very timely, as Blush’s sizzling new video has certainly garnered a lot of attention from the LGBTQ community. The video to their latest release, “Work”, not only steams the screen, it offers an honest and empowering look at same sex love, with an openly bi-sexual group member. The video’s striptease sequences are not just an answer to the void in representation, they depict the work a woman puts into her commitments-including sexual ones. Consistent with such impacting themes set to pulsating music, the group highlights subjects that are current and global. The debut album, “Old School Hip-Hop Past, Present, and Future” offers a telling example of Blush’s reviving style of 90’s Hi-Hop and R&B. Their finely tuned live performances now present a combination of sexy, smart, and sizzling all in one blazing package – something the crowds this summer are sure to love.

Check Out New Teen Sensation Haley Smith Just In Time For Father’s Day

Breakout artist Haley Smith stirs your soul with her vocals, yet the back story and emotional underpinning to her new song-arriving just in time for Father’s Day

In Time For Father’s Day

With the approach of Father’s Day and Black Music Month during the 4 weeks of June, DoubleXXposure presents a heartfelt message in the celebration of both!

Breakout artist Haley Smith stirs your soul with her vocals, yet the back story and emotional underpinning to her new song-arriving just in time for Father’s Day-comes from a place of both pain, and her undying love.
On May 21, 2014 there was a disturbing news story in the Bronx of a man who was murdered at 8:30 in the morning in front of an elementary school.
The victim, Lamont Smith, left behind three children, including a 5 year old son and his 13 year old daughter, Haley. As an aspiring singer, her gift continued to shine in spite of enduring the loss of her dad. After the night’s winning performance at the Apollo just weeks after her father’s death, she showed her community both her talent and her strength.
Her new track, “I Miss My Daddy” was recorded a few weeks afterward, with the guidance, pen, and production talents of Chas Bronxson. During the late 80’s as a teen prodigy himself, Chäs wrote, produced, and performed promos for all the hot NYC radio DJ’s, most notably for DJ Red Alert, Fred Buggs & Ed Lover & Dr. Dre’s ‘Morning Show’ to name a few. As a songwriter, Chäs placed in the top ten of EMI’s 1997 John Lennon Songwriting Contest for hip-hop and won grand prize in the 1999 contest for R&B as just a few of his accomplishments in the industry.
After the ‘I Miss My Daddy’ project, Chäs will release his ‘Group H.U.G.S.’ project: A concept album that celebrates all the pioneer groups of R&B and discusses the politics of radio. This project {like the ‘I Miss My Daddy’ project} will debut on Shot 97 as we approach Black Music Month this June.
Bronxson states that he recognized that although the subject matter covers a girl missing the presence of her father who is alive – when Haley sang the words, ‘I Miss My Daddy’, she was feeling it on a level that resonates far deeper. If there’s ever a time when you explore the pain that daughters specifically feel with the absence of their father, this song will hit home.

Haley Smith also now available as a guest on panels and in forums where her healing messages can be shared. She has since completed a soon to be released video for the song featuring her own interpretation of this sensitive subject, that audiences are sure to find inspirational.

To date, Haley has released two singles: an original entitled, “Safe Place” and “Silent Night” (Rendition) which are available for purchase and streaming on all digital platforms like ITunes, Amazon, Tidal, IHeart Radio, Spotify etc.
Her progress on the new release, video, and additional information can be found via social media at:
About Haley Smith:
Haley Smith is a fifteen-year-old songstress/recording artist from the Bronx in New York City, discovered at the age of nine. She is of Jamaican-American descent. Smith has performed on various stages throughout New York such as the Apollo, (winning amateur night) and at venues which include BB Kings, Stage 72 and club Iguana, and the Arts on Third festival in Westchester. Haley’s influences range from contemporary pop stars such as Adele and Christina Aguilera to soulful belters such as Etta James and Aretha Franklin. Haley is currently a student of “Ready to Sing” and mentored by her vocal teacher/coach Ms. Eve Soto.

We Are Talking About You: Selina Albright…Are Your Ears Ringing? Because We Just Gave Your “Conversations” Album 4.5 Out of 5 stars!

er original songs are introspective and they explore both the joys and disappointments of love.

By: Eric Lee & Mikey Adam Cohen

Selina Al bright | MUSIC NEWS 2017 | MUSIC | NEW MUSIC | JAZZ MUSIC 2017

Selina is a great friend, as well as an extraordinary artist. She is a superb communicator and I admire the passion and the power that she puts into each title. Her original songs are introspective and they explore both the joys and disappointments of love.

Last year, Albright primed the marketplace for “Conversations” by releasing  the uplifting single “Sun Comes Up,” which outpaced her previous singles.

Selina pushes the envelope with Lyrics you have to think about. The kind of song with a powerful yet angelic tone and admirable phrasing that wins hands down over her R and B music counterparts. She has range and I love that Selina pushes the envelope in R and B with a stylish nod to jazz with a really identifiable vocal sound, and the kind of performance.

With your album, Conversations you really fresh and current approach in recording it. Your songs have strong, engaging melodies, with catchy hooks, clean bass lines, and sultry electric and acoustic guitar riffs.

Your vocal performance on this album feels very diverse, without confusion in the lyrics. Like yourself, your lyrics portray a confident woman, beautiful with her a great head on her shoulders with plenty of personality and attitude, much like having a engaging conversation with you.

1. What was the first tune(s) you learned?

Selina Albright:

“Singing At The Cross” – It’s a church hymn my mother sang to me before bed when I was a baby.

2. Which other famous musicians do you admire? Why?

Selina Albright:

I admire any artist who is dedicated to musicianship, originality, and honesty in musical expression. I love music by Billie Holiday, Eric Roberson, Nina Simone, Lalah Hathaway, Ella Fitzgerald, Algebra Blessett, Phil Perry… Call me “Old School,” but there’s something about a seasoned voice and years of life’s experiences that holds such freedom!

3. What are your fondest memories in your house?

Selina Albright:

Education was really important to my Mom, and I just loved when she would do research a country’s culture and food, and then make us a themed, costumed dinner event, just for the four of us.

That’s how I started becoming excited about traveling the world! My favorite themed night was Japanese Night; Dad had just traveled there on tour, so he brought back kimonos for all of us. We dressed up for the occasion, threw some floor pillows down, and ate a home-cooked Japanese meal on the floor in proper form with hot green tea with full-on tea presentation!

4. What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

Selina Albright:

There are many mottos that I live by, depending on what chapter I’m in and what mindset it requires of me, but my favorite one is this: “Either pray or worry…. but don’t do both at the same time.”

5. For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words:

Selina Albright:

Vocally-Prominent, Candid, Sultry Expression

6. So, what’s your favorite thing to do when you aren’t writing/producing/playing etc?

Selina Albright:

That’s easy – I love to cook and eat!

BONUS QUESTION: What’s next for Selina Albright?

Selina Albright:

I always strive to make my music and performances stronger, and to reach a wider audience, so next I’ll be studying more music, while I start my *CONVERSATIONS TOUR*!

I’m also reflecting on my life since completing this project and starting to write for the next record already – can you believe it? I believe I’m ready to open up even more on the next project than on “Conversations,” so get ready…. 😉 The story continues!

Our Overall impressions:

-sultry and smooth voice – maistry

-full command of her instrument

-a vocals-driven album with inspired instrumentals and repeat listenability

“Conversations” contains the following songs:

Eat Something” (featuring Kay-Ta Matsuno) -an unconventionally-irreverent anthem to the type of love that fosters self-acceptance and confidence featuring Kay-Ta Matsuno right away it puts you in your funky, & soothing mix of funky, yet super sophisticated, carefully plucked guitar strings to set the mood out of the starting gate! Great choice and super friend of mine.

Possible”- the kind of songwriting that you wish you encountered more often – so catchy that you’re singing along after the first chorus

If I Were A Boy” (featuring Randy Ellis)- Selina treats us to a haunting and unexpectedly beautiful remake of A Beyonce’ Hit Song. Dad got the goosebumps from your version.

Talk To Her

Highest High“- What is your highest high?

Wifey Anthem (You Don’t Have To Fight At Home)” (featuring David P. Stevens)- You featured David P. Stevens on this track we were wondering why? David P. Stevens was on Smooth Saturdays with us during NAMM this year. Great choice btw,his chill vibe really set the song out for us.

Search My Name

Victim

Let Go” (featuring Gerald Albright)- The energy of this song is calm and it puts us in out happy place and it features a rare glimpse of Gerald Albright’s genius at work on the flute

Uncharted Love

Conversations” It’s my very first full-length CD, ten songs – nine of which I wrote, based on conversations I’ve had with people in my life at some point or R&B/Soul record coming out on March 17th called “Conversations.” It’s my very first full-length CD, ten songs – nine of which I wrote, based on conversations I’ve had with people in my life at some point or another.

R&B/Soul record coming out on March 17th called “Conversations.” It’s my very first full-length CD, ten songs – nine of which I wrote, based on conversations I’ve had with people in my life at some point or another.”- Selina Albright

Selena Albright defies genres and sterotypes – as summed up perfectly by her lyrices in “Search My Name” – “I don’t fit into a category, “I’m just me. Started out in jazz, did a little EDM, and now i’m R&B”

(this track is begging for a dance remix)

Former VAN HALEN Bassist MICHAEL ANTHONY Mourns Loss Of Infant Grandson Read

Condolences are in order for former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony on the death of his infant grandson Rex

Condolences are in order for former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony on the death of his infant grandson Rex. The boy was born two weeks ago with a fatal heart problem.

Anthony, who has two daughters, writes on Facebook:

“We are tremendously proud of Rex. In the short time on Earth, he left a lasting impression that our family will cherish.

“I am doing the ‘Walk L.A.’ in June for Children’s Hospital L.A. with our families to give back a little to the hospital that did so much for my grandson and other children that come here. Our team is called ‘Rex and the Heart Beaters.’

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any donation to support my walk for Children’s Hospital L.A.!”

Anthony and his family are hoping to raise $5,000 in donations to benefit Children’s Hospital L.A., already reaching over $3,000 as off this FACEBOOK posting.

Anthony‘s family writes: “Rex Becerra (son of Elisha and Billy Becerra) was born March 20, 2017, but was quickly diagnosed with heart disease. Within nine hours of birth, he was transported to two hospitals and ultimately landed at Children’s Hospital L.A. where he underwent open heart surgery.

The surgery was successful. However, Rex‘s heart was to weak to overcome the recovery. After watching him decline to a condition we understood he could not return, we decided to hold him in our arms while life support (ecmo) was removed and he peacefully went to join the angels in heaven.

“We are tremendously proud of Rex. In the short time on earth, he left a lasting impression that our family will cherish.

“We really appreciate The outstanding support from friends and family and the incredible staff at Children’s Hospital who did everything possible to save Rex‘s life.

“Children’s Hospital is non-profit and often comes to the rescue for children when other hospitals run out of medical options for their care, including Rex.

Walk L.A. is the walk that supports the only hospital solely dedicated to the health of children in Los Angeles.

“Here are a few ways you can get involved:

* Donate to our page to help me reach my fundraising goal.
* Join the Walk and create your own fundraising page for Walk L.A.!

“I hope you’ll join me at the walk and help support my fundraising efforts with a donation to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount, great or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us create hope and build healthier futures for the families of Southern California and beyond.”

Click here to donate to Michael Anthony‘s Walk L.A. fundraising page.

Anthony revealed in a 2016 interview that he reconnected with VAN HALEN drummer Alex Van Halen less than a year ago after more than a decade of not speaking to each other.

Anthony, singer Sammy Hagar, Alex and Eddie Van Halen last teamed up in 2004 for a VAN HALEN U.S. summer tour. In exchange for taking part in the tour, Anthony reportedly had to agree to take a pay cut and sign away his rights to the band name and logo.

In 2007, the Van Halen brothers, Wolfgang Van Halen and singer David Lee Roth announced they would be hitting the road for a reunion tour. Anthony later told Music Radar that he “found out about that tour like everybody else did — in the press.”

Anthony has played primarily with Hagar in the thirteen years since he last performed with VAN HALEN, in groups like CHICKENFOOT and THE CIRCLE.
